Laundry Detergent

I made my own laundry detergent today! Two types, powdered and liquid. Well, I wouldn't really call the liquid liquid...more like gel! 5 gallons of laundry gel! I already tried a load in the powdered, just have to put it in the dryer. It didn't explode or anything, and my clothes appear to be clean and smell fresh. I have been cleaning with vinegar for abourt six months now, and am interested in using less chemicals around the house. Don't worry, I still used Round Up on my weeds outside!

Oh, last week I started using vinegar in my downy ball. I had read that vinegar was a good substitute for fabric softener, but was somewhat skeptical until I tried it. My clothes are soft, static free and don't smell like vinegar, actually they smell fresh and clean. Or as Mike would say, "So fresh and so clean, clean".

Ok, so you are probably curious about the process, well I found my recipes online at pioneerliving.com or pioneerliving.org or .net or something like that. Just google homemade laundry detergent and you'll find tons to pick and choose from.

I think I'll try homemade shampoo next, or maybe dishwasher detergent, or a natural pesticide for my garden! This is going to be so much fun!
